The Ohio Operating Engineers Aprrenticeship and Training program used the Davis-Shai House expansion project as a training site in the fall of 2009. The project called for the retention pond, located on the building's east side, and the hillside located south of the retention pond to be reversed for an expanded parking lot. The new parking area willl include an additional entry to the facility through the garden area.
